“Jesus Rather Than Silver Gold” (Acts 3:1-10)

May the grace and love of God be upon you who is listening to God’s voice today in this worship.

Byunghan Lee, author of the book “Earth Tech” suggested Korea’s global leadership in future world to lead USA, United State of Asia and go toward UN, United Natures including nations, people, nature, object, AI, Humanoid robot.

This world is facing a big paradigm change. Korea is growing its influence over all areas such as technology, military, culture, social system, AI semiconductors. They need to suggest direction of future world beyond current status quo.

New era with AI needs to reset new paradigm of viewpoint to go forward with a new lifestyle in future. I believe that God ask us to lead this world in new challenge for the plan of God. People of Korea is called from God to be prophesy for gospel of Jesus Christ.

Today Bible let us know there come new era of Holy Spirit beyond era of law.

Let us read together Acts 3:3-10,

“When he saw Peter and John about to enter, he asked them for money. Peter looked straight at him, as did John. Then Peter said, “Look at us!” So the man gave them his attention, expecting to get something from them. Then Peter said, “Silver or gold I do not have, but what I have I give you, in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, walk.” Taking him by the right hand,
he helped him up, and instantly the man feet and ankles became strong. He jumped to his feet and began to walk. Then he went with them into the temple courts, walking and jumping, and praising God. They recognized him as the same man who used to sit begging at the temple gate called Beautiful, and they were filled with wonder and amazement at what had happened to him.”

After Jesus Christ crucifixion and resurrection, his disciples have experienced the power of Holy Spirit through the blood of Jesus Christ to discard old law by grace of God. They understood that the power of Word has been with those who proclaim gospel of Jesus Christ.

The first event of power of Word was the healing of the Paralyzed man on the beautiful Gate of the temple.

When Peter of John entered the gate of temple for prayer, the paralyzed man begged for money. But they asked him to see themselves and said, “I have no silver and gold, but what I have I give you, in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, Walk,” he immediately walked. He was healed perfectly by the name of Jesus Christ.

The man asked money, but two disciples saw what he need truly. They gave him things better than what he asked.

The gate that happened was called the “Beautiful Gate” and there was silver and gold walls painted for glory of the temple. Silver or gold will be extincted soon but health will last long. Health that can walk from paralyzed is blessing for his life. They gave him great present to walk by the name of Jesus Christ.

The name of Jesus Christ is better beautiful than the silver and gold.

Verse 6 say,

“Then Peter said, “Silver or gold I do not have, but what I have I give you, in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, walk.”

This event of the healing the paralyzed man symbolized the revelational change from the era of law to era of grace.

In Old Testament, the role of forgiving was in the sacrifice ceremony through priests with ransom like cow or lamb. But God began the role of forgiving sins not by sacrifice ceremony but the blood of Jesus Christ.

This healing was the first event to show God’s power of forgiving sin by blood of Jesus Christ. People could confirm the true power of God comes from the name of Jesus Christ not from sacrifice of priests.

All people of Israel then hung on the sacrifice ceremony and the center of it was the temple with silver and gold. All priest depended on the tradition and system. They worked every day to keep their system and tradition. But God has changed the new spiritual way of saving life. That is the power of blood of Jesus Christ who had died as ransom for eternal life and paid for our sin value.

But they did not know the new era of grace was already near them. They hung on holy tent of Moses and holy temple of Solomon. They should know God sent new way of saving life through Jesus Christ.

While not knowing this new grace of God, they were isolated in their own tradition. Other people discovered this new grace from Jesus Christ. They found grace of God in blood of Jesus Christ and began to come in faith to Jesus Christ.

This grace first time revealed at the event of healing the paralyzed man to the world.

From that event many souls began to follow the gospel of Jesus Christ for salvation and forgiving sin. Persecution began on the Christian who those following Jesus Christ. The gospel of Jesus Christ more has been spreading nations and people in the world. That is plan of God to save souls in world beyond certain tradition.

Brothers and sisters in the Lord,

We are follower of Jesus Christ who died on cross for all life to save from all sins. We belonged to Almighty God, wonderful redeemer, savior, creator of all life.

Let us proclaim the name of Jesus Christ and share our grace with others near us. Let us be eager to taste His great grace given.

Whenever we use the name of Jesus Christ, we will be graceful before God. God permitted us to use His wonderful name to heal, to love, to forgive, and to recover.

Acts 3:16 say,

“by faith in the name of Jesus, this man is Jesus’ name and the faith that comes through him that has given this complete healing to him, as you can all see.”

Jesus’ forgiving grace began to open instead of ransom sacrifice era. We are now living in the grace of God because of blood of Jesus Christ.

When Jesus talked with a woman by well of Samaria, he said to her the new era of worship would come soon. This means ransom centered worship will be replaced to grace centered worship, place center worship to people centered worship, temple center worship to Spirit centered worship.

John’s Gospel 4:23 say,

“Yet a time is coming and has now come when the true worshipers will worship the Father in Spirit and truth, For they are the kind of worshippers the Father seeks.”

We are living in the era of worship of Spirit. The blood of Jesus Christ is with all of us worshipping God in Spirit.

This worship in Spirit and truth makes nation, people, family, and life alive. We are blessed through this worship of Jesus Christ. This is our blessing and salvation.

One century ago, a young single lady evangelist entered deep mountain small village to start worship to God in the name of Jesus Chris. Long time later all villagers became Christian, and their children grew up in the teaching by her. Their children inherited her faith and contributed to building good and healthy society at the local and national level. They confessed that we are blessed to hear gospel of Jesus Christ and we are thankful to her introducing it on us.

Hymn 93 verse 4 says,

“Jesus is all the word to me, I want no better friend; I trust Him now, I’ll trust Him when Life’s fleeting days shall end. Beautiful life with such a Friend; Beautiful life that has no end; Eternal life, eternal joy, He’s my Friend.”

Philippians 2:11 say,

“and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.”

God be with all of you, Amen.
