“Gospel Deliverance Of Resurrection” (Mark’s Gospel 16:9-20)

May the grace and love of God is upon you who is listening God’s voice today in this worship.

Nicolas Copernicus said in 16th century that earth is moving not sun is moving. Peoples then regard him as insane person. Galileo Galilei contended same in 17th century. Vatican sentenced him not to say more that earth is moving. But after court he left a famous word saying still earth is moving. Later Isaac Newton found universal gravitation while he seeing an apple fall down the ground.

People did not believe what these smart pioneers instead persecuted them due to the hard thing to understand. These natural and scientific facts are general in people now.

Resurrection of Jesus Christ was hard to believe then but now the truth becomes the hope of all believers and we are children of God joining in glory of resurrection with Chris.

Let us read together Mark's gospel 16:9-14,

"When Jesus rose early on the first day of the week, he appeared first to Mary Magdalene, out of who he had driven seven demons. She went and told those who had been with him and who were mourning and weeping. When they heard that Jesus was alive and that she had seen him, they did not believe it. Afterward Jesus appeared in a different form to two of them while they were walking in the country. These returned and reported it to the rest; but they did not believe them either. Later Jesus appeared to the Eleven as they were eating; he rebuked them for their lack of faith and their stubborn refusal to believe those who had seen him after he had risen."

The frequent expression in this Bible passage is "they did not believe". The risen Lord was not east to believe to those who mourn or weep then. Because they have seen the Lord was dead on the cross and buried. So they were hard to believe what people had seen the risen Lord.

The risen Lord Jesus Christ appeared his disciples and loved ones so that they all could believe later.

Jesus rebuked those who did not believe what people had seen the risen Lord. This is symbolic evidence of how much hard to believe within people in Lord and how much real is the resurrected Lord.

Four all authors of Gospel, Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John recorded this resurrection of the Lord vividly. And we who believe in Jesus is risen will follow him and live everlasting with God in his kingdom.

Mark's Gospel 16:15-16 says,

"He said  to them, "Go into all the world and preach the good news to all creation. Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned."

Giving the good news to all creation is mission of ours, Children of God. What is mission and good news? That is Jesus sacrificed his life for our salvation and we became his children due to our faith to believe him as savior and we will be resurrected following Jesus Christ to everlasting.

When the disciples elected Matthias instead Judas' position, they nominated him qualified as witness of life and resurrected Lord Jesus Christ. Faith on resurrection was important confession of servant to God.

God gives power and miracle on those who believe the risen Lord while rebuking those who do not believe it.

Mark's Gospel 16:17-18 says,

" And these signs will accompany those who believe; In my name they will drive out demons; they will speak in new tongue; they will pick up snakes with their hands; and when they drink deadly poison, it will not hurt them at all; they will place their hands on sick people, and they will get well."

Brothers and sisters in the Lord,

When we proclaim the resurrected Lord, the Lord will give us wondrous signs and miracles for our mission. Doubt stands faith!

Disciples did not believe first but later they did believe firmly and became witness of strong conviction on the resurrected Lord.

Apostle Paul was joyful to say our hope reaches to heaven not just the earth because of resurrection in God.

After resurrected, Jesus appeared many people loved as Mary, Peter, five hundred at once, and Paul.

Jesus has eaten baked fish with, entered a room locked where disciples gathered, walked with two of them as unknown, he was simultaneously at Jerusalem and Galilee. That was Jesus' way of being resurrected. Lord Jesus Christ became a new form of living to reside in heaven of God. And we will become as Jesus Christ resurrected and will live with God as new form of resurrected one.

II Corinthians 5:1 says,

"Now we know that if the earthly tent we live in is destroyed, we have a building from God, an eternal house in heaven, not built by human hands."

I Corinthians 14:44 says too,

"It is sown a natural body, it is raised in spiritual body.  If there is a natural body, there is also a spiritual body."

Jesus Christ has given his body as sacrifice to us for salvation and become the first fruit of resurrection leading us to kingdom of God. So we can praise him in life and get glory in heaven.

Resurrection is blessing and grace upon us with everlasting life. Let us live as witness of resurrected Lord and Lord will be with us by His sovereign power. We will not dead but live again in new form of resurrection in God.

One person asked me how much different between believers and unbelievers? I answered as this; "we believer, go to life of everlasting life while unbeliever go to death in final of life."

Let us live with the resurrected Lord and preach Him alive in us.

God be with all of you, Amen.
